Servicing Terms
Last updated: 13 September 2026
These terms explain what to expect when Eco Vent Ireland services your ventilation system. They apply to all servicing visits, including Group Service Days. Nothing here affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
1. What a service is and what it isn’t
Servicing is preventive maintenance. Think of it like a car service: it keeps a working MVHR or MEV system clean, quiet and efficient, and helps catch problems early.
Like any machine, a ventilation unit has parts that wear out over time: fans, motors, bearings and electronics. A service can’t reverse that wear or make an older unit new again. A unit can still develop a fault after a service, especially an older one or one that hasn’t been maintained for a long time. That is normal wear, not a result of the service.
Our assessment on the day is a visual check carried out during the service. It is not a design review, airflow test or certificate, unless you book one of those separately.
2. What’s included
MVHR servicing:
- cleaning of the fans and heat exchanger, using manufacturer-approved methods
- inspection of the condensate trap and drain
- cleaning of air valves
- a full visual inspection of the unit and visible parts of the system
MEV servicing:
- disassembly and deep internal clean of the fan, impeller blades and housing
- cleaning of extract points
- a visual check of key connections
The exact scope depends on your unit model and how easy it is to reach.
3. Our findings and your choices
After the visit we’ll tell you honestly how your system is doing. If we find worn parts, damage or anything that needs attention, we’ll explain it and, where possible, give you a quote.
Any repairs, replacement parts or extra work are always quoted and agreed with you before we start. You are never charged for work you didn’t approve.
4. Older and fragile components
On older units, plastic clips, housings, seals and connectors can become brittle with age and heat. We handle every unit with care, but parts that are already weakened can crack during normal dismantling or cleaning. If we notice a fragile or worn part, we’ll tell you before we continue. If a replacement is needed, we’ll quote it and agree it with you first.
5. Filters and parts
Filter prices depend on your unit model. We stock filters for Vent-Axia Sentinel Kinetic units. Filters and parts for other models can be ordered on request; please allow up to 5 working days.
6. Before we arrive
Please make sure that:
- the unit is accessible, including safe access to the attic or cupboard where it is fitted
- we can enter every room with a supply or extract vent
- there is parking near the property
- pets are kept away from the work area
If we can’t reach the unit or finish the service because of access problems, we’ll agree a new date with you.
For safety, we may pause or reschedule the work if access to the unit isn’t safe or if we suspect materials that need specialist handling, such as asbestos.
7. Rescheduling and cancelling
You can reschedule or cancel your visit at no cost by letting us know at least 24 hours before your appointment, by WhatsApp or email.
8. Group Service Days
- Group Service Days are arranged for several homes in the same area on the same day, at a group discount.
- Each home books its own separate time slot and gets its own visit.
- Your discount stays in place even if other people in the group cancel.
- Your contact details are used only to arrange your visit. We never share them with your neighbours or anyone else in the group.
- Your final price is confirmed before your visit.
9. Payment
Payment is due on the day of the visit, by card or cash.
10. After your visit
We carry out every service with reasonable care and skill. If you notice a problem after our visit, please tell us within 30 days. We’ll arrange to come back and inspect it. Where the problem comes from the work we carried out, we’ll put that work right at no cost to you. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights as a consumer.
